Factors That Influence The Cost Of Interior Painting Services
A professional interior paint job is the quickest and least expensive way to improve the look, feel, and value of your home.
Your home is probably your biggest asset, so you should always hire a professional painter. When you shop for a pro, it’s important to understand the factors that influence the cost of interior house painting services.
Here are the three main cost factors: size, labor, and materials.
The larger your home, the greater the number of rooms, which means more corners, more trim, and more doors. A professional paint job can typically cost anywhere from $1.50 to more than $3.50 per square foot of house.
Our painters also use spray equipment, brushes, rollers, scrapers, sanding equipment, caulk, tape, and a variety of protective coverings when they perform interior painting services. The more they need, the greater your cost. This applied also if you want to paint the outside of your house.
Your professional painter doesn’t just slap on new paint. Doing a good job involves a lot of preparation, and quality preparation is the key to a superb paint job that will last for years. Here are some of the factors influencing the cost of labour in addition to the painting itself:
Planning
Before starting the job, the painter will invests time in planning the equipment and materials they will need.
Set-Up
It takes time to assemble materials and equipment at your home. They also must place protective coverings wherever needed.
Preparation
This is where most do-it-yourselfers fail.
The amount of prep work will vary from job to job, but it must be done well. Walls must be cleaned, scraped, sanded, and patched so that the surfaces to be painted are smooth and so that the new paint can adhere properly. Some areas may require spot priming to ensure adhesion and to ensure that the new paint will hide the existing paint.
Tape must be meticulously applied to areas where colours change, such as baseboards and trim, or to protect areas that aren’t going to be painted, like windows and light fixtures.
Gaps in the baseboards, crown molding, and around trim must be caulked.
Clean-up
Once the job is done, your contractor will remove all the tape and protective coverings and make sure that there aren’t any drips anywhere. They also have to clean up and remove all their equipment.
Paint quality can vary considerably, and better paint costs more. Most interiors are painted with latex paint with an eggshell finish, but homeowners can choose other finishes. A gallon of paint can run from $35 to $90.
Don’t cheap out on your paint selection. Cheap paint is more likely to peel or fade, which defeats the purpose of beautifying your home. Buy the best paint that your budget allows.

Top To Bottom Interior Painting Experts
Looking to paint one room or your whole house? Whatever you want to do, we’re the experts to call because we can do:
Our Simple
Painting Process
Step 1 - Colour Selection
Before starting, you'll need to choose a colour. If you want to keep the colour you currently have on your walls, you can bring a chip of the paint to us. Our people can help you identify the colour, the finish, and type of paint with our visualizer tools. If you want a new colour, we also offer a Colour Consulting Service if you need help coming to a decision on a new colour for your walls.
Step 2 - Protect the Area
Once you have chosen a colour we can get to work. Whether it is an interior or exterior project, the first thing we do is cover the furniture, floors and/or windows with a new, clean piece of protective plastic sheeting. And for interiors, we will also protect your floors with drop cloths, covering every inch of your floor.
Step 3 - Prepare Surfaces
The next step is to prepare the walls that we will paint. During this stage, our crew prepares the walls for painting by filling any holes or cracks in your ceilings and walls. We do this to seal stains, and then to scuff sand any uneven surfaces, including loose or old paint. This makes the surface we are painting a smooth and clean canvas necessary for a beautiful final product.
Step 4 - Apply New Paint
Let the fun begin. Now that we have prepared the area, we can start applying the paint. There are multiple finish options, including flat, matte, eggshell, satin, semi-gloss, and high-gloss; the benefits of which we go over with you early on in the project so you can make an informed decision. The duration of this step will vary depending on the size of the job, but we will always ensure to work as quickly and efficiently as possible.
Step 5 - Clean Up
The paint will dry within a few hours, and if you hired us for an interior painting project, you will not have to leave your home while the paint dries. As we wait for the paint to dry, our people will start to clean up the project area. They remove all the painting materials and coverings, sweep your floors and carpets thoroughly, and put everything back exactly where we found it.
Step 6 - Walk Through Inspection
After we complete an inspection, your Job Site Supervisor will walk you through the space, giving you the opportunity to review our work and to share any feedback. Our work is designed to last up to 7 years on a properly maintained surface, so you will get to enjoy your beautiful new paint project for years to come.
