Benefits of Painting Your Home’s Exterior
Our exterior painting team can completely revitalize the look and overall aesthetic of your home and maintain the value of your home with a fresh coat of paint. An exterior painting service is something every homeowner can benefit from, especially if you are looking to sell your home.
Catering to the Region’s Style
Take a look around the area that you live, and you’ll no doubt notice that most of the homes follow a certain aesthetic. Some areas prefer coastal colours, others prefer subdued neutrals. Painting the exterior of your home in the defining aesthetic of the region will make it more desirable and increase its value. Exterior painting services can, naturally, help you convert the outside of your home to the styles in question, After all, they’re pretty familiar with the regional styles in the areas they serve.
Maintain a Clean Home Exterior
When it comes to curbside appeal, If it looks bad on the outside, your guests will rarely want to go inside. Messed up paint, chipped paint, dirty spots on the house: all of these reduce a home’s appearance and value. So if the paint job on your house is old or peeling, getting a new exterior paint job can significantly increase the value of your home. At the very least, it’s likely to increase the odds of buyers taking an interest in your home, making it easier to sell.
Popular Colours For Your Exterior
There are some colours for your exterior that have a greater value than others. While it’s true that every colour is liked by someone, it’s also true that some colours are more generally popular than others. That means a house painted a popular paints has a higher value than one that doesn’t. For instance, bright colours like yellow or lavender are often highly personal tastes that most people don’t like. But neutral paints appeal to a much wider audience. So painting your house exterior such a colour increases its value and likelihood of being sold. Finally some colours work better if you want to paint stucco, brick, vinyl, sidings, garages, window trims in the outside or the inside of your home.
Getting Rid of the Old Paints
Just like with cars, there are some paints that make dirt and other blemishes show up more readily, so you have to avoid them. If your house is painted in these paints, then an exterior painting service has something to offer you. After all, even if it’s just an illusory effect of the paints, if your house appears dirty, it’s less likely to be considered by potential buyers. Such paints include warm white, yellow, certain shades of pink, and more.
Step 1 - Colour Selection
Before starting, you'll need to choose a colour. If you want to keep the colour you currently have on your walls, you can bring a chip of the paint to us. Our people can help you identify the colour, the finish, and type of paint with our visualizer tools. If you want a new colour, we also offer a Colour Consulting Service if you need help coming to a decision on a new colour for your walls.
Step 2 - Protect the Area
Once you have chosen a colour we can get to work. Whether it is an interior or exterior project, the first thing we do is cover the furniture, floors and/or windows with a new, clean piece of protective plastic sheeting. And for interiors, we will also protect your floors with drop cloths, covering every inch of your floor.
Step 3 - Prepare Surfaces
The next step is to prepare the walls that we will paint. During this stage, our crew prepares the walls for painting by filling any holes or cracks in your ceilings and walls. We do this to seal stains, and then to scuff sand any uneven surfaces, including loose or old paint. This makes the surface we are painting a smooth and clean canvas necessary for a beautiful final product.
Step 4 - Apply New Paint
Let the fun begin. Now that we have prepared the area, we can start applying the paint. There are multiple finish options, including flat, matte, eggshell, satin, semi-gloss, and high-gloss; the benefits of which we go over with you early on in the project so you can make an informed decision. The duration of this step will vary depending on the size of the job, but we will always ensure to work as quickly and efficiently as possible.
Step 5 - Clean Up
The paint will dry within a few hours, and if you hired us for an interior painting project, you will not have to leave your home while the paint dries. As we wait for the paint to dry, our people will start to clean up the project area. They remove all the painting materials and coverings, sweep your floors and carpets thoroughly, and put everything back exactly where we found it.
Step 6 - Walk Through Inspection
After we complete an inspection, your Job Site Supervisor will walk you through the space, giving you the opportunity to review our work and to share any feedback. Our work is designed to last up to 7 years on a properly maintained surface, so you will get to enjoy your beautiful new paint project for years to come.
